We’ve installed thousands of windows over the last 34 years, take a look at what we have installed more recently.
Fitting Scotland Perfectly
Double Glazing Arbroath
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

The Advanced Group provides double glazing in Arbroath for homeowners across Angus, replacing old, draughty or storm-damaged windows and doors.
Windows, doors and conservatories are all made to measure, fitted by our own specialist team. Double and triple glazing both available, and qualifying installations are backed by a 15-year guarantee.
If you are interest in highly energy-efficient and innovative windows and doors, contact our team today to arrange your free home survey.
The Advanced Group is Scotland’s leading provider of uPVC double glazing and triple glazing products.
Our high-performance glazed windows feature energy reflecting glass as standard, for cutting edge technology that allows sunlight to enter your home while maintaining the temperature of your interior space.
All windows are fitted with thermo spacer bars to reduce cold bridges around the unit edges.
But it isn’t just our products that lead the way in the industry.
With over 38 years of experience in replacement windows, our team knows how to correctly install windows. We provide quality windows that are made to last, all backed by our 15 year guarantee.
Come and visit our uPVC showroom to see our range for yourself and find out how you can benefit from upgrading your home.
A survey tells us which frame suits your property, and from here we can guide you through our different specifications.
Sliding sash windows
Sash windows are a classic design that suit properties throughout the whole of Arbroath.
Areas such as West Port, the High Street and the streets down towards the harbour are still full of original timber-framed sash and case windows, most of them long past keeping the heat in.
Our modern uPVC upgrades ensure the sightlines stay slim so a red sandstone frontage doesn’t lose its character from the street, all while improving function and security.
What used to be a weights-and-pulleys mechanism is gone, replaced underneath by a spiral balance that runs more smoothly.
They lock at several points around the frame instead, and the double glazed sealed unit insulates in a way a single pane of glass never managed.
Our full range of sliding sash windows goes into the sightline and glazing bar choices at greater length, if you’d like to look before booking a survey.
A casement window, hinged at the side, is what most of the semis and detached houses further out from the centre already have.
For this, we have two configurations.
A standard casement window sits in a recessed bay or bow, whereas a flush casement sits nearly level with the frame outside for a cleaner profile than a standard overlapping sash.
Our team inspects your sill and the depth of the recession to advise what works best for your property.
Tilt and turn windows
Tilt and turn windows have gained popularity over the years due to their innovative and practical capabilities.
Tilt and turn windows work two ways, tipped from the top for background ventilation or swung fully inward on their hinge to clean the glass from inside. This gives you control of your ventilation, as well as secure airflow.
Bay and bow windows
Bay windows and bow windows are particularly common on the town’s Victorian villas.
These designs project outward on angled panels that pull extra light and floor space into the room behind them.
Every one is made to measure since no two openings sit at quite the same angle.

How much heat a frame loses is captured in a single figure, the U-value, and that number is the real comparison point when you’re weighing up new double glazing against a repair.
The lower the U-value, the better a window’s thermal efficiency, and the warmer an Arbroath home stays through a North Sea winter.
Our standard window comes in at 1.4 W/m²K, rated ‘A’, matching Scottish Building Regulations set for replacement glazing. We have options to enhance this rating further, bringing the value of double glazing down as low as 1.2 W/m²K.
If your home sits in a particularly exposed location, we can bring this value down further still!
Add a third pane, an argon-filled cavity for extra insulation and a Soft Coat Xtra coating, and the whole window drops to 0.8 W/m²K.
That’s the better spec for a north-facing room, or any house catching the worst of the weather straight off the water.
What lower heat loss does to a home
A warmer room is only part of what lower heat loss buys you, since the boiler also works less hard to hold the same temperature.
Energy bills come down without anyone touching the thermostat, and the frame’s built-in trickle vents keep background ventilation going once the draughts stop.
Condensation on the inside of the glass tends to fade too, since warmer glass gives moist indoor air less of a cold surface to settle on.

Your windows aren’t the only culprits for heat loss in a home. An old front door can lose heat almost as fast as a failing window.
Luckily, The Advanced Group also provides energy efficient doors to increase your home’s thermal efficiency.
Composite, uPVC panel and patio doors are all part of the same range, and for a red sandstone townhouse specifically, a composite door with a stained glass panel over it can suit a property perfectly.
Composite door guarantees
We believe in the quality of our products and installations; that’s why we feel confident in our lengthy guarantees.
Our composite doors come with a 10 year guarantee, while the rest of our uPVC range comes with a 15 year guarantee.
The Advanced Group specialists will always guide you through your guarantee so you fully understand before proceeding.
Conservatories
Conservatories are also part of what we design and fit, for a bigger project than doors and windows alone.
Our Dundee and Angus conservatory range shows the same styles we’d bring to an Arbroath home, from a simple lean-to through to a full Victorian design with a period roof.

Fascias, soffits and guttering take the same salt-laden wind as the windows beneath them, and a cracked or sagging length of roofline lets water track down the wall face long before anyone notices a leak inside.
We fit uPVC fascias, soffits, bargeboards and guttering alongside window and door projects, and the same 15-year term applies once they’re up, so the whole roofline gets replaced to one standard.

The Advanced Group fits uPVC only for window replacement, not timber, and that’s a deliberate choice.
Environment
Camden in Ireland supplies most of that uPVC, and roughly 80% of it is recycled or renewable material rather than newly manufactured plastic.
When a window eventually reaches the end of its working life decades from now, our team takes the frame goes back into that same recycling loop instead of to landfill.
Low maintenance
uPVC doesn’t require the same amount of upkeep as wooden windows.
There’s no annual repaint and no sanding back a swollen sash to get it moving again.
A simple wipe with warm water and mild detergent a few times a year keeps the frame looking like new, and the drainage channels just need clearing out so rainwater doesn’t sit in the frame.

A galvanised steel core sits inside every chamber of our uPVC profile, so the frame stays rigid enough to hold multi-point locking properly.
A lower-grade profile without that reinforcement can flex slightly at the corners over time, which is usually the first sign a cheaper window is starting to fail.
Wide range of colours and styles
The choice is yours with uPVC in turns of opening style and colour!
White is still the most requested finish, though foiled woodgrain effects and darker shades like anthracite grey are increasingly popular on both new windows and doors.
This colour runs through the material itself rather than sitting on top as paint, meaning that a scratch doesn’t expose a different shade underneath.
Durability of the frame
Salt air off the North Sea is harder on some materials than others, and painted timber needs recoating every few years just to keep the damp out near a harbour like Arbroath’s.
uPVC doesn’t rust or corrode, and the frame itself won’t rot or warp the way an old timber sash eventually does.
It’s why our windows are still doing their job decades after they’re fitted.

Every Arbroath job follows five steps, whether the work covers windows and doors or the windows on their own.
- Book a survey – We visit your Arbroath property, measure every opening and talk through the options. There’s no obligation to decide there and then.
- Get a written quote – Every window, door and finish is itemised, glazing spec included, along with the 0% finance option if spreading the payments suits you better.
- Manufacture to your survey – Your glazing team confirms every measurement before anything is made, because two openings in the same Arbroath property are rarely identical.
- Installation by our own fitters – It’s our own team on site, never a subcontractor, working across Arbroath and Angus properties they already know well.
- Final check and sign-off – Every window and door is opened, closed and locked in front of you before we hand over your guarantee paperwork.
Alternatively, why not come and visit our Glasgow showroom!
Here you can talk to our experts and see our complete range firsthand, helping you decide which style suits your preferences best.

We cover Arbroath itself, from the town centre and harbour out to Elliot, Ethiebeaton and the Woodlands area, plus the wider Angus coastline towards Carnoustie and Montrose.
Dundee is our nearest base to Arbroath, and Angus enquiries go to the same local window fitters who already cover Monifieth and Carnoustie, so you’re not dealing with someone unfamiliar with the area.
Not to worry if you are located outside of Arbroath and Angus, we have extensive coverage across Scotland.
Give our team a call before booking and we’ll be more than happy to confirm coverage first.

Decades of experience

Track record with customers
We’re loved by our customers.
More than 500 people have left a Trustpilot review, and the average sits at 9.6 out of 10. And in fact, over half of our new work comes from a recommendation rather than an advert.
Huge guarantees from our trusted team
Every installation is guaranteed for 15 years, a term that covers the frame, the glass, the hardware and the workmanship, with composite doors sitting on their own 10-year term.
Our own qualified double glazing installers carry out the work.
