New Windows Abbeyhill
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

Maybe you’ve picked up on a change in temperature in your home. Bills going up. Or condensation sitting on or inside your windows in the morning.
If any of that sounds familiar, your windows are telling you something.
Older windows shed their seal over time.
Gas escapes from between the panes. The rubber gaskets go rigid and shrink. What used to hold back the cold now barely makes a difference.
In a location like Abbeyhill, where rain and wind are often more common than sunshine, worn windows have a clear effect on how warm and comfortable your home feels.
Over 38 years in the trade, and The Advanced Group is still here, ready to support you. Whether it’s one room or the full house that is due new windows and doors, we’ll find the right fit and have everything fitted the right way.

Some faults are clear. Cracked glass, rotten timber frames, handles that don’t lock properly.
But then there are the quieter signs. The ones you overlook until they’ve already been costing you money for months, possibly years.

If you can notice moisture or fogging between the two sheets of glass, the sealed unit has given way.
Once that seal goes, the argon gas that delivers insulation seeps out, and your window loses a huge chunk of its thermal performance.
Rising heating prices don’t have to eat into your wallet. Recover your home’s thermal efficiency with properly sealed new windows.

Try putting your hand near the edges of your window on a windy day. If you notice cold air sneaking through, the seals have deteriorated.
Sure, draught proofing strips can do something for a short time, but they’re just a sticking plaster. The issue only deteriorates as the rubber continues to degrading.

Windows that jam, won’t close right, or refuse to budge are both a security risk and an insulation problem. Warped frames, worn hinges, failed mechanisms. The window has hit the end of its useful life.
Modern windows feature multi-point locking systems that are far more secure than the single-point catches on older frames. Options like toughened glass give further security too.

Windows lose a large proportion of your home’s heat. They’re the boundary between you and the outside weather.
Old double glazing can’t compare. The energy ratings are well below what’s on offer now, even if the original specification was good at the time.
High energy costs don’t have to be the default. New double glazed windows and doors work to protect your property and bring those costs down.

Abbeyhill homes come in all forms, and the right window style depends on your building, the room, and how you live in it.
A full selection of windows and doors, double glazed and triple glazed, is available from The Advanced Group, including uPVC casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung types, all supplied and fitted by our team.
Casement windows could well be the UK’s most widely chosen window type! They’re side-hinged, open outwards, and are brilliant for ventilation and dead easy to clean from inside.
Ideal for most property styles, from modern houses to traditional houses, casement windows are offered in a wide choice of colours and finishes, including woodgrain effects that recreate the look of timber without the maintenance or risk of warping.

Our sliding sash windows look like original wooden sash frames. Modern thermal performance and security are included as standard.
The proportions, sight lines, and opening mechanism match the traditional design. That’s important if your property is in a conservation area or you just want to maintain its charm.
Tilt and turn windows tilt inward at the top for protected ventilation, and turn fully inward on a side hinge for simple cleaning.
Popular in upper-floor flats. Cleaning the outside from a ladder? Not feasible.
The tilt mode is a real bonus! You get airflow without the security concerns of a fully open window, which is particularly handy if you’ve got young kids at home.
Hinged at the top, swinging outward from the bottom. Top hung windows provide you ventilation and work to hold the rain out at the very same time.
They are often used in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, bay window configurations, and other spaces where privacy and airflow are equally important.

French windows are full-length windows that open outward like French doors.
Ideal in pairs. Pair them with sidelights to fill a wide opening with glass and natural light.

The Advanced Group concentrates in uPVC frame materials for sound reasons.
Scottish weather can be rough, but uPVC handles it all! It’s long-lasting, resists wind, rain, and the harshest of it, and you won’t get the warping or rot problems that timber frames suffer from.
uPVC is low maintenance too.
Wipe it down with soapy water. Job done. It looks fresh.
Here’s the really exciting part: our uPVC windows are seriously energy efficient! Designed with multi-chambered uPVC, some of our frames reach a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K, which seriously works to bring back your home’s energy performance.
And better of all? uPVC double glazing is also the most cost-effective option.
This means you to often fit premium-grade glazing without blowing your budget. We also stock glazed uPVC doors, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to coordinate.

Scotland gives cold, wet, and windy weather for a good part of the year.
With a climate like that, the energy rating of your windows makes a genuine difference to what you spend on heating and how pleasant your house feels day to day!
U-value. That’s the figure that shows you how well-insulated a window truly is.
A lower figure means less heat getting out through the glass and frame. Right now, Scottish building regulations set a maximum U-value of 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows.
Our standard double glazed windows achieve a U-value of 1.2 W/m2K, while our premium range can reach values as low as 0.8 W/m2K, working at twice the standard of the regulatory minimum.
That performance gain is directly visible on your energy bills.
A-rated energy-efficient windows and doors with argon gas filled sealed units and low-E glass coatings are brilliant at sending heat back into the room while still allowing plenty of light through.
Upgrading from old single-glazed sash windows or 1990s double glazing? Expect a significant drop in heating bills within the first winter.
Abbeyhill has its share of double glazing businesses, and most offer standard products. Few, however, come close to the calibre of the windows and doors supplied by The Advanced Group.

Our experienced installers enjoy talking about triple glazing, and it’s a question that arises frequently!
Triple glazing includes an extra pane of glass, which delivers improved insulation and clearly better noise reduction.
If your home is in an exposed area, up a hill, facing north, or near a busy road or flight path, The Advanced Group is more than glad to walk you through the advantages of triple glazing.

We know that new windows are an investment, and paying for them all at once isn’t always feasible.
That’s precisely why we have available 0% APR and up to 4 years of interest free credit.
This enables you to get the windows you want while spreading the cost of your new windows and doors in a way that suits your budget.
