New Windows Alness
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

You’ve felt the temperature dropping in your home. Bills are rising. Condensation forms on or inside your windows every morning.
Does that sound? Your windows are telling you something’s.
Over time, older windows gradually lose their seal.
Gas leaks from between the panes. The rubber gaskets harden and pull away. What used to hold back the cold now barely makes a difference.
Alness’s rain and wind can feel more common than the sun. Tired windows make a real difference to how warm and comfortable your property feels.
But don’t worry, The Advanced Group is here to lend a hand with more than 38 years of trusted experience. Whether it’s new windows for a single room or a full house of replacement windows and doors, we’ll find you the right fit and have everything installed the right way.

Some signs are easy to spot. Cracked glass, rotten timber frames, handles that don’t lock the way they should.
But other issues are easier to miss, and by the time you spot them, they’ve probably already been costing you money for months, maybe even years.

Can you notice moisture or fogging sitting between the two sheets of glass? That means the sealed unit has broken down.
The seal goes, and with it leaks the argon gas that kept the insulation. The window loses a major portion of its thermal ability.
Don’t keep throwing money away on climbing heating bills. Recover your home’s thermal efficiency with properly sealed new windows.

On a windy day, place your hand near the edges of the window. If you can feel cold air getting through, this tells you the seals have deteriorated.
Draught proofing strips provide a short-term fix, but they’re really a sticking plaster on a problem that will only get worse as the rubber keeps perish.

A window that catches, won’t lock properly, or struggles to budge is not just an annoyance. It’s a security risk and an insulation issue. Warped frames, worn hinges, and failed mechanisms are the window’s way of telling you it’s past its best.
Modern windows come with multi-point locking systems that are far ahead of the single-point catches on older frames. Throw in toughened glass, and you’ve got significantly better security.

Windows are responsible for a significant share of heat loss in any house. They are the bridge between you and the outside elements.
Older double glazing is a thing of the past, and the energy ratings will be well below what’s on offer now, even if they were a good specification when they were first put in.
Protect your property from high energy bills with new double glazed windows and doors.

Every Alness house has its own feel. The right window choice depends on the property, the room, and how you use it.
The Advanced Group delivers a full selection of windows and doors in both double glazed and triple glazed specifications, including uPVC casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung styles.

The casement window takes the crown of the UK’s most widely chosen style. Side-hinged and opening outwards, they’re great for ventilation and a breeze to clean from inside.
Casement windows go with most property styles. Modern houses, traditional villas, the lot in between. Provided in a wide selection of colours and finishes, including woodgrain effects that replicate the look of timber without the maintenance or warping risk.
Our sliding sash windows replicate original wooden sash frames. Modern thermal efficiency and safety come as standard.
Proportions, sight lines, and opening mechanism all follow the traditional style. Ideal for conservation areas or preserving your property’s personality.

Tilt them inward at the top for protected ventilation. Turn them fully inward on a side hinge for quick cleaning. Two modes, one window.
Popular in upper-floor flats. Cleaning the outside from a ladder? Not an option.
The tilt mode enables airflow without the security worries associated with a fully open window, which is especially helpful for families with young children.

Hinged at the top, opening outward from the bottom. Sensible for ventilation and effective at keeping rain out.
They’re often fitted in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, bay window configurations, and other spaces where privacy and airflow are equally valued.

French windows look just like French doors but are full-length windows that open outward.
Great in pairs. Pair them with sidelights to flood a wide opening with glass and natural light.

uPVC frame materials. That’s what The Advanced Group specialises in, and the reasons are sound.
uPVC frame materials are especially well suited to the demanding Scottish weather, providing durability and resilience to harsh, windy, and wet weather. Unlike timber frames, uPVC won’t present the same warping or rot concerns.
What’s more, uPVC is also low maintenance.
Simply wipe it down with soapy water and it can look good as new.
The big benefit? Energy performance. Our uPVC windows are built with multi-chambered uPVC, and some frames reach a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K. That restores real energy performance to your house.
The icing on the cake? uPVC double glazing is the most affordable option going.
So you can often choose higher-specification glazing and still stay within budget. We provide glazed uPVC doors too, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to match.
Scotland is cold, wet, and windy for a good chunk of the year.
In such a climate, the energy rating of your windows has a genuine impact on your heating bills and the overall cosiness of your property day to day.
Thermal performance is measured by U-value.
A lower U-value translates to less heat getting out through the glass and frame. Scottish building regulations currently stipulate a maximum U-value of 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows.
Standard double glazed windows: 1.2 W/m2K. Premium options: as low as 0.8 W/m2K. That’s twice as effective as the regulatory minimum.
And where does that difference appear? Straight on your energy statements!
Argon gas filled sealed units and low-E glass coatings perform the heavy lifting in A-rated energy-efficient windows and doors. Heat gets reflected back in. Light still gets through.
If you’re upgrading from old single-glazed sash windows or early double glazing from the 1990s, you could see a properly significant drop in your heating costs within just the first winter!
Many double glazing firms in Alness supply standard products, but few can match the calibre of the windows and doors we provide.
Our trusted installers love talking about triple glazing, and it’s a topic that arises regularly!
Triple glazing adds an extra pane of glass, which provides better insulation and significantly improved noise reduction.
If your property is perched in an exposed location, up a hill, facing north, or near a busy road or under a flight path, give us a shout! The Advanced Group would be more than pleased to guide you through the upsides of triple glazing.

We know that new windows are an significant spend, and paying for them all at once isn’t always practical.
