New Windows Alva
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

If you’ve picked up on a temperature change in your house, or noticed your bills climbing, or condensation forming on or inside your windows in the morning, it’s time taking notice.
If that seems familiar, your windows are sending you something.
The seal on older windows deteriorates over time.
Between the panes, the gas seeps away. The rubber gaskets go stiff and shrink. What used to blocked the chill now barely does a thing.
In a part of the country like Alva, where rain and wind can often feel more regular than the sun, ageing windows make a real difference to how warm and cosy your home feels.
But not to worry, The Advanced Group is here to support you with over 38 years of trusted experience. Whether you want new windows for a single room or a full house of replacement windows and doors, we can help you find the right solution and get everything installed properly.

Some problems are obvious, such as cracked glass, rotten timber frames, and handles that won’t lock the right way.
But other issues are harder to notice, and by the time you catch them, they’ve already been losing you money for months, perhaps even years.

Moisture or fogging between the two sheets of glass is a dead giveaway sign. The sealed unit has failed.
The seal goes, and with it escapes the argon gas that delivered the insulation. The window loses a significant chunk of its thermal ability.
Increasing heating costs don’t have to keep eating into your pocket. Properly sealed new windows will recover your home’s thermal efficiency and help push those bills back down.

On a windy day, put your hand near the edges of the window. If you can feel cold air flowing through, this suggests the seals have deteriorated.
Draught proofing strips provide a short-term measure, but they’re just a sticking plaster on a problem that will only worsen as the rubber goes on to break down.

Windows that jam, seize, or won’t lock properly are a security risk as well as an insulation concern. Warped frames, worn hinges, and failed mechanisms all indicate the window has hit the end of its functional life.
Modern windows use multi-point locking systems that are way ahead of the single-point catches on older models. Add toughened glass, and you’ve got significantly stronger protection.
Windows contribute to a large share of heat loss in any house. Your window is the bridge between you and the outside world.
Your old double glazing? It’s had its day! The energy ratings are far below what’s available today, even if the original setup was decent back then.
New double glazed windows and doors will guard your home from high energy costs.

Every Alva property has its own feel. The right window style hinges on the building, the room, and how you live in it.
The Advanced Group provides a full choice of windows and doors in both double glazed and triple glazed configurations, including uPVC casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung types.

Casement windows are likely the most widely chosen window type in the UK. They’re side-hinged and open outwards, making them ideal for ventilation and simple to clean from inside.
Modern home or traditional property, casement windows suit the lot. A wide selection of colours and finishes is available, and the woodgrain effects replicate the look of timber without any of the maintenance or warping risk.

Our sliding sash windows mirror original wooden sash frames. Modern thermal efficiency and security are built in as standard.
The proportions, sight lines, and opening mechanism all mirror the traditional look, which matters if your property is in a conservation area or you simply want to maintain its character.

Tilt inward at the top for secure ventilation. Turn completely inward on a side hinge for simple cleaning.
Upper-floor flat? Cleaning outside glass from a ladder isn’t an option. Tilt and turn windows fix that problem straight away.
The tilt function lets air in without the safety worries of having the window fully open, which is especially handy if you’ve got young children.
Top hung windows are hinged at the top and open outward from the bottom, giving a smart solution for ventilation that also works to keep rain out.
They are commonly used in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, bay window setups, and other spaces where privacy and airflow are both valued.

French windows are full-length units that open outward in the same way as French doors.
Great in pairs. Combine them with sidelights to open up a wide opening with glass and natural light.
We specialise in uPVC frame materials. And for good reason.
Scottish weather dishes out everything at your windows. uPVC is built to handle it, durable, resilient to harsh, windy, wet conditions, and free from the warping or rot concerns that plague timber frames.
And there’s one more benefit: uPVC is incredibly low maintenance!
Soapy water and a wipe. That’s all it needs to keep uPVC looking good as new.
Energy performance is where our uPVC windows genuinely stand out. Multi-chambered uPVC construction, U-values as low as 0.8 W/m2K on some frames, and a proper improvement to the energy performance of your home.
And best of all? uPVC double glazing is also the most affordable option.
This means you to often fit premium-grade glazing without exceeding your budget. We also provide glazed uPVC doors, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to complement.
Let’s be straight, Scotland is cold, wet, and windy for a large chunk of the year!
In that weather, the energy performance of your windows makes a genuine difference to how much you pay on heating and how warm your house feels day to day.
Thermal efficiency is measured by U-value.
A lower U-value means less heat getting out through the glass and frame. Scottish building regulations currently stipulate a maximum U-value of 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows.
Our standard double glazed windows come in at 1.2 W/m2K. The premium range? As low as 0.8 W/m2K. Twice as effective as the regulatory minimum, comfortably.
The evidence? It appears on your energy costs.
A-rated energy-efficient windows and doors, fitted with argon gas filled sealed units and low-E glass coatings, perform by reflecting heat back into the room while still managing to let light through.
If you are upgrading from old single-glazed sash windows or early double glazing from the 1990s, you should notice a real drop in your heating spend within the first winter.
Many double glazing firms in Alva offer standard products, but few can rival the calibre of the windows and doors we install.

We get asked about triple glazing regularly.
An extra pane of glass. Stronger insulation. Better noise dampening. That’s triple glazing.
If your property is in an exposed area, at a greater altitude, facing north, or near a busy road or flight path, The Advanced Group would be more than pleased to walk you through the benefits of triple glazing.

New windows are an big spend, and we understand that paying for them all at once isn’t always practical.
That’s exactly why we offer 0% APR and up to 4 years of interest free credit.
The windows you need, with the cost spread in a way that suits for you. That’s what 0% finance allows.
