New Windows Castle Douglas
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

Felt a temperature change in your home? Energy costs on the rise? Or condensation sitting on or inside your windows in the morning?
That nagging feeling? It’s your windows signalling to you they need attention.
Windows don’t stay sealed forever, and older ones drop theirs over time.
That gas between the panes? It seeps away. The rubber gaskets go rigid and pull away. And what once kept keep the cold out barely holds up.
In Castle Douglas, where the rain and wind can seem more regular than sunshine, worn-out windows definitely affect how warm and cosy your home feels.
No need to stress about it! The Advanced Group has been helping homeowners for over 38 years. Whether you are after new windows for just one room or the whole house of replacement windows and doors, we’ll match you with the right choice and get it all installed the right way.

Cracked glass? Rotten timber frames? Handles that don’t fasten right? Some signs are pretty obvious.
Other signs are harder to spot. By the time you do, they’ve been costing you money for months or years.

If you notice moisture or fogging between the two panes of glass, this is a strong sign that the sealed unit has given way.
The seal goes. The argon gas escapes out. The window loses a major amount of its thermal efficiency.
Why pour money away on increasing heating costs? Restore your home’s thermal performance with properly sealed new windows instead.

Here’s a quick test: hold your hand near the edges of the window on a windy day. If cold air is coming through, the seals have broken down.
Draught proofing strips buy you time, but they’re a sticking plaster at best. The rubber keeps degrading, and the problem only worsens.

Windows that catch, bind, or won’t lock properly are a security risk as well as an insulation concern. Warped frames, worn hinges, and failed mechanisms all suggest the window has come to the end of its useful life.
Multi-point locking systems on modern windows are much more protective than the single-point catches on older models, and options like toughened glass give extra protection.
Windows contribute to a considerable share of heat loss in any property. Your window is the boundary between you and the outside elements.
Double glazing from the past is exactly that, in the past. The energy ratings sit significantly below today’s offerings, even if the original spec was decent back then.
New double glazed windows and doors will shield your house from high energy costs.

No two Castle Douglas houses are the alike, and the right window choice hinges on the property, the room, and how you use it.
A full selection of windows and doors, double glazed and triple glazed, is ready from The Advanced Group, including uPVC casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung types, all supplied and fitted by our installers.

The casement window takes the title of the UK’s most common style. Side-hinged and opening outwards, they’re practical for ventilation and a breeze to clean from inside.
Casement windows complement most property kinds, from modern builds to traditional villas, and are available in a wide range of colours and finishes, including woodgrain effects that mimic the look of timber without the maintenance and fear of warping.

Our sliding sash windows replicate the look of original wooden sash frames while providing modern thermal performance and protection.
Every proportion, sight line, and opening mechanism mirrors the traditional design. Whether your property is in a conservation area or you simply want to maintain its personality, these windows deliver.

These windows tilt inward at the top for safe ventilation and turn completely inward on a side hinge for simple cleaning.
Upper-floor flat? Cleaning outside glass from a ladder isn’t an option. Tilt and turn windows solve that problem straight away.
The tilt function allows airflow without the security risks associated with a fully open window, which is particularly useful for families with young children.
Top hung windows open outward from the bottom while being hinged at the top, which is brilliant for letting air in without allowing rain in.
Often used in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, and bay window setups. Any space where privacy and airflow both count.

French windows are full-length windows that open outward like French doors.
Paired together, they perform wonderfully and can be paired with sidelights to open up a wide opening with glass and natural light.
The Advanced Group specialises in uPVC frame materials, and for some genuinely good reasons!
Scotland’s weather won’t go easy on your windows, and uPVC is made to withstand it. It’s durable, resistant to rough, windy, wet conditions, and unlike timber, it won’t deteriorate the same way.
uPVC is low maintenance too.
Simply wipe it down with soapy water and it can look brand new.
But more importantly, our uPVC windows are highly energy performant. Engineered with multi-chambered uPVC, some of our frames can reach a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K, helping bring back energy performance to your home.
And better of all? uPVC double glazing is also the most budget-friendly option.
That means you can often upgrade to higher-specification glazing without breaking the budget! We also supply glazed uPVC doors, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to complement.
Scotland delivers cold, wet, and windy weather for a fair portion of the year.
With a climate like that, the energy efficiency of your windows makes a noticeable difference to what you shell out on heating and how pleasant your house feels from day to day!
A window’s thermal performance is measured by something called its U-value.
The lower that value goes, the less heat gets through. Scottish building regulations cap the maximum at 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows at present.
Our standard double glazed windows deliver 1.2 W/m2K, and our premium models can reach 0.8 W/m2K! That’s double glazing and triple glazing performing at twice the regulatory minimum!
You’ll notice the difference on your energy costs.
Argon gas filled sealed units and low-E glass coatings perform the heavy lifting in A-rated energy-efficient windows and doors. Heat gets reflected back in. Light still gets through.
Old single-glazed sash windows or 1990s double glazing? Switch them, and you could see a noticeable drop in heating costs before the first winter is over.
Plenty of double glazing firms in Castle Douglas supply basic products, but not many can match the calibre of the windows and doors we provide.

Our trusted installers often get asked about our triple glazing options.
With an extra pane of glass, triple glazing offers enhanced insulation and better noise control.
If your property is in an exposed area, at a greater altitude, facing north, or close to a busy road or flight path, The Advanced Group would be more than happy to walk you through the advantages of triple glazing.
