Fitting Scotland Perfectly
New Windows Fort William
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

Spotted a temperature shift in your house? Energy costs on the up? Or condensation sitting on or inside your windows first thing?
If that sounds familiar, your windows are telling you something.
Over time, older windows start to lose their seal.
The gas between the panes slowly escapes, the rubber gaskets harden and pull back, and what used to kept the cold out now scarcely slows it down.
In a city like Fort William, where rain and wind are often more frequent than sunshine, ageing windows have a clear effect on how warm and comfortable your house feels.
The Advanced Group is here to make things easier, bringing over 38 years of trusted service. Whether you want new windows for a single room or a full house of replacement windows and doors, we’ll work with you to choose the right option and make sure everything is fitted the right way.

Some faults are obvious. Cracked glass, rotten timber frames, handles that don’t close properly.
Some signs fly under the radar however, and by the time you spot them, they’ve been quietly losing you money for months or even years.

If you can see moisture or fogging between the two sheets of glass, the sealed unit has broken down.
Once the seal has gone, the argon gas that delivers insulation escapes, and the window loses a significant amount of its thermal performance.
Rising heating bills don’t have to eat into your wallet. Bring back your home’s thermal efficiency with perfectly sealed new windows.

Here’s a quick test: put your hand near the edges of the window on a windy day. If cold air is sneaking through, the seals have worn out.
Draught proofing strips? They’re a temporary fix. The issue only deteriorates as the rubber keeps degrade.

Windows that catch, won’t fasten correctly, or refuse to open are both a safety risk and an insulation concern. Warped frames, worn hinges, failed mechanisms. The window has hit the end of its useful life.
Multi-point locking systems far exceed the old single-point catches for safety. Toughened glass provides extra safety.

Your windows are responsible for a significant amount of the heat loss in your home. They’re the bridge between you and the elements.
Older double glazing is a thing of the past, and the energy ratings will be far below what’s out there now, even if they were a decent specification when they were first put in.
Guard your home from high energy bills. New double glazed windows and doors create the difference.

Every Fort William home has its own feel. The right window choice depends on the property, the room, and how you live in it.
The Advanced Group supplies and fits a full choice of windows and doors in both double glazed and triple glazed setups, including uPVC triple and double and triple glazed casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung designs.

Perhaps the most common window style in the UK, casement windows are side-hinged and open outwards, which makes them practical for ventilation and simple to clean from inside.
They fit most kinds of property, from modern builds to traditional properties, and are available in a wide choice of colours and finishes. Woodgrain effects recreate the look of timber without the maintenance or risk of warping.
The classic look of wooden sash frames, mirrored in every detail. That’s what our sliding sash windows offer, along with modern thermal performance and safety.
The proportions, sight lines, and opening mechanism all stay true to the traditional style, which is brilliant if your property’s in a conservation area or you just want to hold onto its character.

Tilt inward at the top for protected ventilation. Turn fully inward on a side hinge for quick cleaning.
If you are in an upper-floor flat, these are a brilliant pick because cleaning the outside of the glass from a ladder just isn’t practical.
The tilt feature enables airflow without the safety concerns that come with a fully open window, which is especially useful for families with young children.

Top hung windows are hinged at the top and open outward from the bottom, offering a practical solution for ventilation that also helps to keep rain out.
Frequently used in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, and bay window configurations. Every space where privacy and airflow both matter.

French windows look just like French doors but are full-length windows that open outward.
They’re perfect in pairs and can be matched with sidelights to open up a wide opening with glass and natural light.

We focus in uPVC frame materials. And for sound reason.
Scottish weather can be harsh, but uPVC handles it all! It’s hardwearing, stands up to wind, rain, and the roughest of it, and you won’t get the warping or rot problems that timber frames bring.
uPVC is low maintenance too.
Wipe it down with soapy water. Job done. Looks as good as new.
More significantly though, our uPVC windows are highly energy efficient. With multi-chambered uPVC engineering, some of our frames can achieve a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K, working to bring back your home’s energy performance.
And the better bit? uPVC double glazing is the most affordable option out there.
This means you can often choose higher-spec glazing without breaking the budget. We also offer glazed uPVC doors, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to complement.
Scotland dishes out cold, wet, and windy weather for a fair portion of the year.
With a climate like that, the energy performance of your windows makes a noticeable difference to what you shell out on heating and how pleasant your house feels day to day!
The thermal performance of a window is assessed by its U-value.
The lower the figure, the less heat escapes through the glass and frame. Scottish building regulations currently demand a maximum U-value of 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows.
Standard double glazed windows: 1.2 W/m2K. Premium models: as low as 0.8 W/m2K. That’s twice as effective as the regulatory minimum.
You’ll see the difference on your energy statements.
Argon gas filled sealed units and low-E glass coatings perform the hard work in A-rated energy-efficient windows and doors. Heat gets pushed back in. Light still comes through.
Old single-glazed sash windows or 1990s double glazing? Switch them, and you could see a noticeable drop in heating bills before the first winter is over.
Fort William has its share of double glazing companies, and most offer standard products. Few, however, match the calibre of the windows and doors provided by The Advanced Group.
Our trusted installers are frequently asked about the triple glazing range we supply.
With an extra pane of glass, triple glazing delivers improved insulation and greater noise reduction.
