New Windows Fountainbridge
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

You’ve spotted the temperature shifting in your home. Energy bills are climbing. Condensation forms on or inside your windows every morning.
If that sounds familiar, your windows are trying to tell you something.
Older windows lose their seal over time.
Gas seeps out from between the panes. The rubber gaskets go rigid and pull away. What used to hold back the cold now barely registers.
Living in Fountainbridge, you get that rain and wind can beat the sunny days, and ageing windows make a real difference to how warm and snug your home feels.
Over 38 years in the industry, and The Advanced Group is still here, ready to help. Whether it’s one room or the whole house that requires new windows and doors, we’ll find the right solution and get everything installed properly.

Some issues are obvious. Cracked glass, rotten timber frames, handles that don’t fasten correctly.
But other signs are easier to miss, and by the time you catch them, they’ve already been losing you money for months or even years.

Can you see moisture or fogging forming between the two sheets of glass? That means the sealed unit has given way.
The seal breaks, and with it goes the argon gas that provided the insulation. The window loses a large degree of its thermal performance.
Don’t waste money away with climbing heating prices and make sure to recover your home’s thermal performance with well sealed new windows.

Hold your hand near the edges of the window on a windy day. If you can feel cold air getting in, the seals have deteriorated.
Draught proofing strips? They’re a short-term fix. The issue only gets worse as the rubber continues to perish.

A window that catches, won’t fasten right, or refuses to open is more than an inconvenience. It’s a safety risk and an insulation issue. Warped frames, worn hinges, and failed mechanisms are the window’s way of saying it’s past its best.
Multi-point locking systems on modern windows are far more secure than the single-point catches on older models, and options like toughened glass give extra protection.

A large share of heat loss in any home occurs through the windows. They represent the bridge between your living space and the outside weather.
Old double glazing doesn’t compare. The energy ratings are far below what’s available today, even if the original spec was good at the time.
Shield your home from expensive energy costs. New double glazed windows and doors make the difference.

No two Fountainbridge houses are the same, and the ideal window choice depends on the property, the room, and how you use it.
The Advanced Group provides and installs a full range of windows and doors in both double glazed and triple glazed setups, including uPVC triple and double and triple glazed casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung designs.
As very likely the most popular window style in the UK, casement windows are side-hinged and open outwards, offering practical ventilation and easy cleaning from inside.
Casement windows suit most property kinds, from modern houses to traditional properties, and are offered in a wide range of colours and finishes, including woodgrain effects that recreate the look of timber without the maintenance and worry of warping.

Want the style of original wooden sash frames? Our sliding sash windows replicate that classic style while packing in modern thermal performance and safety.
Proportions, sight lines, and opening mechanism all mirror the traditional design. Perfect for conservation areas or preserving your property’s charm.
Tilt and turn windows tilt inward at the top for protected ventilation, and turn fully inward on a side hinge for easy cleaning.
They’re particularly popular in upper-floor flats, where climbing up a ladder to clean the outside of the glass is not practical.
The tilt feature is a real bonus! You get airflow without the security risks of a fully open window, which is particularly handy if you’ve got young kids at home.
Top hung windows are hinged at the top and open outward from the bottom, providing a practical option for ventilation that also works to keep rain out.
Often installed in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, and bay window configurations. Every space where privacy and airflow both are important.

French windows are full-length windows that open outward like French doors.
Pair them up and combine them with sidelights, and you can flood a wide opening with glass and natural light. The effect is beautiful.

We focus in uPVC frame materials. And for sound reason.
Scotland’s weather won’t take it easy on your windows, and uPVC is designed to take it. It’s durable, resistant to rough, windy, wet conditions, and unlike timber, it won’t rot the same way.
Additionally, uPVC offers the advantage of being low maintenance.
Wipe it down with soapy water. That’s it. Looks as good as new.
More importantly however, our uPVC windows are highly energy effective. With multi-chambered uPVC engineering, some of our frames can reach a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K, working to improve your home’s energy efficiency.
Best of all? uPVC double glazing is the most affordable option.
So you can often install higher-spec glazing and still keep within budget. We provide glazed uPVC doors too, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to match.

Cold, wet, and windy. That’s Scotland for a good chunk of the year.
With weather like that, the energy efficiency of your windows makes a genuine difference to what you shell out on heating and how cosy your house feels from day to day!
U-value. That’s the number that reveals you how well-insulated a window really is.
A lower number means less heat escaping through the glass and frame. Currently, Scottish building regulations set a maximum U-value of 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows.
Our standard double glazed windows achieve 1.2 W/m2K, and our premium range can go as low as 0.8 W/m2K! That’s performance at twice the regulatory minimum!
And where does that difference show up? Right on your energy bills!
A-rated energy-efficient windows and doors feature argon gas filled sealed units and low-E glass coatings to push heat back into the room, all while letting natural light through.
If you are switching from old single-glazed sash windows or early double glazing from the 1990s, you could notice a significant reduction in your heating spend within the first winter.
Fountainbridge has plenty of double glazing firms. Few match the quality of our windows and doors.

Our trusted installers are often asked about the triple glazing range we supply.
An extra pane of glass sets triple glazing apart. It delivers better insulation and better noise dampening over standard double glazing.
Exposed spot. Up a hill. Facing north. Near a busy road or under a flight path. If any of that rings true like your property, The Advanced Group is here to walk you through the benefits of triple glazing.

We recognise that new windows represent a considerable investment, and paying for them in full all at once isn’t always practical.
That’s exactly why we have available 0% APR and up to 4 years of interest free credit.
It lets you get the windows you deserve and spread the cost of your new windows and doors in a way that fits nicely for you!
