New Windows Hirst
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

Spotted a temperature drop in your house? Heating bills on the rise? Or condensation appearing on or inside your windows when you wake up?
If that sounds familiar, your windows are telling you a message.
As windows wear, they lose their seal.
Between the panes, the gas escapes. The rubber gaskets harden and pull away. What used to blocked the chill now barely registers.
Hirst sees its fair share of rain and wind, frequently more than sunshine. When your windows are worn, you feel the difference in how warm and comfortable your house remains.
The Advanced Group is here to help, with over 38 years of trusted service. Whether you are looking for new windows for a single room or a full house of replacement windows and doors, we’ll help you find the right fit and make sure everything is fitted the right way.

Cracked glass? Rotten timber frames? Handles that don’t lock right? Some signs are pretty obvious.
Some signs fly under the radar though, and by the time you pick up on them, they’ve been steadily costing you money for months or even years.

Moisture or fogging between the two sheets of glass is a dead giveaway sign. The sealed unit has failed.
Once the seal goes, the argon gas that provides insulation escapes, and the window loses a significant chunk of its thermal performance.
Rising heating bills don’t have to eat into your wallet. Recover your home’s thermal efficiency with properly sealed new windows.

Put your hand near the edges of the window on a windy day. If you can feel cold air sneaking in, the seals have deteriorated.
Draught proofing strips can help in the short term, but they’re only a sticking plaster on a problem that’ll only get worse as the rubber keeps degrading.

Got windows that stick, won’t close right, or just refuse to budge? That’s a safety risk and an insulation concern combined. Warped frames, worn hinges, and failed mechanisms all signal you the window has reached the end of its working life.
Modern windows feature multi-point locking systems that are way ahead of the single-point catches on older frames. Add toughened glass, and you’ve got significantly improved safety.
Did you know that windows cause a considerable share of heat loss in any home? They’re the barrier between your home and the outside world.
Old double glazing doesn’t keep up. The energy ratings are far below what’s available now, even if the original spec was solid when first fitted.
Shield your house from high energy bills with new double glazed windows and doors.

Every Hirst property has its own feel. The right window style depends on the building, the room, and how you live in it.
The Advanced Group stocks and fits a full choice of windows and doors in double glazed and triple glazed configurations, including uPVC casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung types.

Casement windows are probably the most popular window style in the UK. They’re side-hinged and open outwards, making them great for ventilation and easy to clean from inside.
Casement windows go with most property styles. Modern houses, traditional properties, everything in between. On offer in a wide selection of colours and finishes, including woodgrain effects that give the look of timber without the maintenance or warping worry.

The sliding sash windows we fit replicate the look of original wooden sash frames, while providing modern thermal efficiency and security.
The proportions, sight lines, and opening mechanism all follow the traditional design, which matters if your property is in a conservation area or you simply want to keep its personality.

Tilt inward at the top for safe ventilation. Turn completely inward on a side hinge for easy cleaning.
Common in upper-floor flats. Cleaning the outside from a ladder? Not practical.
The tilt feature allows air in without the safety concerns of having the window wide open, which is especially helpful if you’ve got young children.
Top hung windows hinge at the top and open outward from the bottom. This makes them a practical choice for ventilation while helping to stop rain from getting in.
Bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, bay window arrangements, anywhere privacy and airflow both are needed. That’s where top hung windows come into their own.

Think of them as full-length windows that open outward, much like French doors. That’s French windows for you.
Pair them up and combine them with sidelights, and you can fill a wide opening with glass and natural light. The finish is beautiful.
The Advanced Group focuses in uPVC frame materials, and for really good reasons!
Scottish weather can be rough, but uPVC withstands it all! It’s hardwearing, stands up to wind, rain, and the roughest of it, and you won’t get the warping or rot issues that timber frames suffer from.
What’s more, uPVC is also low maintenance.
Just grab it a wipe with soapy water and it’ll look brand new.
But more to the point, our uPVC windows are highly energy effective. Designed with multi-chambered uPVC, some of our frames can achieve a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K, helping bring back energy efficiency to your house.
And better of all? uPVC double glazing is also the most cost-effective option.
Higher-spec glazing without exceeding the budget? That’s what uPVC allows. We also stock glazed uPVC doors, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to complement.
For a large portion of the year, Scotland’s climate is cold, wet, and windy.
That weather means the energy rating of your windows makes a difference. It influences how much you shell out on heating and how warm your home feels from one day to the next.
The thermal performance of a window is determined by its U-value.
A lower U-value means less heat getting out through the glass and frame. Scottish building regulations currently require a maximum U-value of 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows.
Our standard double glazed windows achieve 1.2 W/m2K, and our premium products can hit values as low as 0.8 W/m2K. That’s superior double glazing and triple glazing that operates twice as well as the regulatory minimum.
You’ll notice the difference on your energy bills.
A-rated energy-efficient windows and doors, equipped with argon gas filled sealed units and low-E glass coatings, work by bouncing heat back into the room while continuing to let light through.
Moving from old single-glazed sash windows or 1990s double glazing? Expect a real drop in heating bills within the first winter.
Hirst has plenty of double glazing firms. Few rival the quality of our windows and doors.

Our trusted installers are regularly asked about the triple glazing options we offer.
With an extra pane of glass, triple glazing offers improved insulation and better noise dampening.
If your property is situated in an exposed area, up a hill or high above sea level, facing north, or near a busy road or under a flight path, The Advanced Group would be more than happy to guide you through the benefits of triple glazing.

New windows are an investment, and we appreciate that paying for them all at once isn’t always feasible.
That’s why we offer 0% APR and up to 4 years of interest free credit.
It means you can get the windows you want by helping you spread the cost of your new windows and doors in a way that suits for you.
