New Windows Mid Calder
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

If you’ve picked up on a temperature change in your home, or spotted your bills going up, or condensation forming on or inside your windows in the morning, it’s worth paying attention.
If that sounds familiar, your windows are telling you a message.
The seal on older windows breaks down over time.
Gas leaks from between the panes. The rubber gaskets harden and shrink. What once did hold back the cold now barely slows it down.
Living in Mid Calder, you know that rain and wind can beat the sunny days, and worn-out windows make a proper difference to how warm and snug your home feels.
Not to worry. The Advanced Group offers over 38 years of trusted experience. Single room or full house, replacement windows or doors, we’ll find the right fit and fit everything properly.

Some signs are easy to spot, like cracked glass, rotten timber frames, and handles that don’t close correctly.
But other signs are harder to spot, and by the time you catch them, they’ve already been losing you money for months or even years.

Can you notice moisture or fogging forming between the two sheets of glass? That tells you the sealed unit has failed.
When the seal breaks, the argon gas that acts as insulation leaks, and the window loses a considerable portion of its thermal ability.
Rising heating bills don’t have to keep eating into your pocket. Perfectly sealed new windows will bring back your home’s thermal efficiency and help pull those bills back down.

Try a quick test: put your hand near the edges of the window on a windy day. If cold air is getting through, the seals have worn out.
Draught proofing strips offer a brief solution, but they’re just a sticking plaster on a issue that will only deteriorate as the rubber continues to perish.

If your windows catch, won’t close properly, or are hard to operate, this poses both a security risk and an insulation issue. Warped frames, worn hinges, and failed mechanisms are all indicators that the window has come to the end of its functional life.
Modern windows feature multi-point locking systems that are far ahead of the single-point catches on older frames. Add toughened glass, and you’ve got properly improved security.

Your windows are where a considerable amount of your home’s heat gets out. That thin barrier between you and the outside elements matters more than most people expect.
Double glazing from the past is exactly that, in the past. The energy ratings fall well below today’s standards, even if the original specification was solid back then.
Choosing new double glazed windows and doors is one of the most effective ways to protect your property from high energy costs.

Every Mid Calder home has its own feel. The right window choice comes down to the building, the room, and how you live in it.
The Advanced Group offers a full selection of windows and doors in both double glazed and triple glazed specifications, including uPVC casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung designs.
Possibly the most popular window choice in the UK, casement windows are side-hinged and open outwards, which makes them great for ventilation and easy to clean from inside.
Modern build or traditional house, casement windows suit the lot. A wide range of colours and finishes is available, and the woodgrain effects replicate the look of timber without any of the maintenance or warping risk.

The sliding sash windows we fit recreate the appearance of original wooden sash frames, while providing modern thermal efficiency and security.
The proportions, sight lines, and opening mechanism all stay true to the traditional style, which is perfect if your property’s in a conservation area or you just want to maintain its personality.
Tilt and turn windows tilt inward at the top for safe ventilation, and turn fully inward on a side hinge for simple cleaning.
For homeowners in upper-floor flats, tilt and turn windows are a practical choice, as cleaning the outside of the glass from a ladder is not an option.
The tilt function allows air in without the safety risks of having the window wide open, which is especially helpful if you’ve got young children.
Hinged at the top, opening outward from the bottom. Sensible for ventilation and effective at keeping rain out.
Often installed in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, and bay window arrangements. Any space where privacy and airflow both count.

Full-length windows that open outward like French doors. That’s exactly what French windows are.
Great in pairs. Match them with sidelights to fill a wide opening with glass and natural light.

The Advanced Group concentrates in uPVC frame materials, and for really good reasons!
Scottish weather is brutal. uPVC is designed to withstand it. Durable, resistant to wild, windy, wet weather. No warping or rot worries like timber.
Low maintenance is built in as standard with uPVC.
Simply wipe it down with soapy water and it can look as good as new.
Perhaps most importantly, our uPVC windows offer strong levels of energy performance. Designed with multi-chambered uPVC, some of our frames attain a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K, working to improve energy efficiency throughout your property.
Better of all? uPVC double glazing is the most cost-effective option.
Higher-spec glazing without exceeding the budget? That’s what uPVC allows. We also stock glazed uPVC doors, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to go with.

Scotland is cold, wet, and windy for a good chunk of the year.
In that climate, the energy performance of your windows makes a measurable difference to how much you spend on heating and how warm your house feels every day.
Thermal performance is measured by U-value.
The lower that number, the less heat gets out through your glass and frame. Scottish building regulations currently require a maximum U-value of 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows.
Standard double glazed windows: 1.2 W/m2K. Premium options: as low as 0.8 W/m2K. That’s twice as good as the regulatory minimum.
The difference is reflected on your energy bills.
Argon gas filled sealed units and low-E glass coatings do the real work in A-rated energy-efficient windows and doors. Heat gets bounced back in. Light still comes through.
If you’re upgrading from old single-glazed sash windows or early double glazing from the 1990s, you could see a really clear drop in your heating bills within even the first winter!
Mid Calder has its share of double glazing companies, and most supply basic products. Few, though, come close to the calibre of the windows and doors provided by The Advanced Group.

Our trusted installers are frequently asked about the triple glazing range we carry.
An extra pane of glass. Stronger insulation. Greater noise dampening. That’s triple glazing.
If your property is sitting in an exposed area, up a hill, facing north, or near a busy road or under a flight path, get in touch! The Advanced Group would be more than pleased to walk you through the benefits of triple glazing.

We appreciate that new windows are a significant purchase, and paying for them in full all at once isn’t always practical.
That’s why we have 0% APR and up to 4 years of interest free credit.
It lets you get the windows you need and spread the cost of your new windows and doors in a way that fits nicely for you!
