New Windows Milltimber
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

If you’ve noticed a temperature shift in your home, or spotted your bills rising, or condensation forming on or inside your windows in the morning, it’s worth paying attention.
Ring a bell? Your windows are sending you a message.
Over time, older windows gradually lose their seal.
That gas between the panes? It escapes. The rubber gaskets stiffen and shrink. And what previously did keep the cold out hardly slows it down.
In Milltimber, where the rain and wind can feel more common than sunshine, ageing windows truly affect how warm and comfortable your house feels.
But there’s no need to worry, The Advanced Group is here to lend a hand with more than 38 years of trusted know-how. Whether it’s new windows for one room or a complete house of replacement windows and doors, we’ll help you find the right solution and have everything installed properly.

Some problems are obvious. Cracked glass, rotten timber frames, handles that don’t close as they should.
But other signs are easier to miss, and by the time you notice them, they’ve already been losing you money for months or even years.

Moisture or fogging between the two sheets of glass is a tell-tale sign. The sealed unit has failed.
Once the seal has failed, the argon gas responsible for insulation leaks, and the window loses a considerable amount of its thermal performance.
Rising heating bills don’t have to keep eating into your pocket. Properly sealed new windows will restore your home’s thermal efficiency and start to push those bills back down.

On a windy day, place your hand near the edges of the window. If you can feel cold air coming through, this tells you the seals have broken down.
Draught proofing strips give you time, but they’re a sticking plaster at most. The rubber keeps degrading, and the problem only gets worse.

Jamming windows that won’t close properly aren’t just inconvenient, they’re a security risk and an insulation problem too. Warped frames, worn hinges, and failed mechanisms all point to a window that’s hit the end of its working life.
Modern windows use multi-point locking systems that are miles ahead of the single-point catches on older windows. Throw in toughened glass, and you’ve got properly improved safety.

Your windows are the cause of a large proportion of the heat loss in your house. They’re the barrier between you and the weather outside.
Your old double glazing? It’s outdated! The energy ratings are far below what’s achievable now, even if the original setup was solid at the time.
Protect your house from rising energy costs. New double glazed windows and doors create the difference.

Every Milltimber house is different, and the right window style depends on the house, the room, and how you live in it.
A full selection of windows and doors, double glazed and triple glazed, is ready from The Advanced Group, including uPVC casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung designs, all supplied and fitted by our installers.

As quite possibly the most widely chosen window style in the UK, casement windows are side-hinged and open outwards, offering good ventilation and straightforward cleaning from inside.
Casement windows fit with most property styles. Modern builds, traditional houses, the lot in between. On offer in a wide range of colours and finishes, including woodgrain effects that deliver the look of timber without the maintenance or warping fear.
Want the look of original wooden sash frames? Our sliding sash windows recreate that traditional look while providing modern thermal efficiency and security.
Every proportion, sight line, and opening mechanism mirrors the traditional design. Whether your property is in a conservation area or you simply want to keep its personality, these windows do the job.

Tilt and turn windows are really handy! They tilt inward at the top for secure ventilation and swing fully inward on a side hinge for dead easy cleaning.
If you are in an upper-floor flat, these are a brilliant pick because cleaning the outside of the glass from a ladder just isn’t feasible.
The tilt feature delivers airflow without safety concerns. Particularly helpful for families with young children.

Top hung windows open outward from the bottom while staying hinged at the top, which is brilliant for getting air in without letting rain through.
They are commonly installed in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, bay window setups, and other spaces where privacy and airflow are equally needed.

French windows are full-length units that open outward, functioning similar to French doors.
They work well in pairs and can be matched with sidelights to open up a wide opening with glass and natural light.

The Advanced Group focuses in uPVC frame materials, and for very good reasons!
Scottish weather is tough, and uPVC is designed to be long-lasting and resistant to rough, windy, and wet weather. Unlike timber frames, uPVC won’t have the same warping or rot concerns.
Not only that, but uPVC is low maintenance.
Soapy water and a quick wipe down. That’s all it needs to get uPVC looking good as new.
Here’s the genuinely exciting part: our uPVC windows are seriously energy effective! Designed with multi-chambered uPVC, some of our frames achieve a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K, which genuinely works to restore your home’s energy efficiency.
Best of all? uPVC double glazing is the most affordable option.
This means you can often fit premium-grade glazing without exceeding the budget. We also supply glazed uPVC doors, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to match.
For a good chunk of the year, Scotland’s weather is cold, wet, and windy.
With a climate like that, the energy performance of your windows makes a real difference to what you spend on heating and how comfortable your house feels from day to day!
Thermal performance is measured by U-value.
The lower that value, the less heat escapes through your glass and frame. Scottish building regulations currently cap it at a maximum U-value of 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows.
Our standard double glazed windows achieve 1.2 W/m2K, and our premium options can achieve values as low as 0.8 W/m2K. That’s top-performing double glazing and triple glazing that works twice as well as the regulatory minimum.
You’ll see the difference on your energy statements.
A-rated windows and doors. Argon gas filled sealed units. Low-E glass coatings. Heat reflected back in, light still flowing through.
Old single-glazed sash windows or 1990s double glazing? Switch them, and you could see a clear drop in heating spend before the first winter is out.
While many double glazing firms in Milltimber provide basic products, few can rival the quality of the windows and doors we install.
Our trusted installers are regularly asked about the triple glazing products we offer.
Triple glazing packs in an extra pane of glass, which provides enhanced insulation and clearly greater noise dampening.
If your home is in an exposed area, up a hill, facing north, or near a busy road or flight path, The Advanced Group is more than willing to talk you through the advantages of triple glazing.

We know that new windows are an big purchase, and paying for them all at once isn’t always practical.
