New Windows Oban
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

A drop in temperature throughout the home. Rising energy bills. Condensation sitting on or inside the windows every morning. Ring any bells?
If that sounds familiar, your windows are telling you a message.
As windows get older, they start to lose their seal.
The gas between the panes leaks out, the rubber gaskets stiffen and pull away, and what once did keep the cold out now barely slows it down.
Oban sees its fair share of rain and wind, sometimes more than sunshine. When your windows are past their best, you notice the difference in how warm and snug your home stays.
No need to worry about it! The Advanced Group has been doing this for over 38 years. Whether you want new windows for just one room or a full set of replacement windows and doors, we’ll help you find the right option and get it all installed the right way.

Some problems are plain to see. Cracked glass. Rotten timber frames. Handles that don’t lock correctly.
But other signs are less obvious, and by the time you spot them, they’ve already been losing you money for months, perhaps even years.

If you can see moisture or fogging between the two sheets of glass, the sealed unit has failed.
The seal goes. The argon gas escapes out. The window loses a large portion of its thermal effectiveness.
Don’t keep pouring money away on increasing heating costs. Bring back your home’s thermal performance with properly sealed new windows.

Here’s a quick test: place your hand near the edges of the window on a windy day. If cold air is sneaking through, the seals have worn out.
Draught proofing strips give you time, but they’re a sticking plaster at most. The rubber keeps degrading, and the issue only gets worse.

Windows that stick, jam, or won’t fasten correctly are a security risk as well as an insulation issue. Warped frames, worn hinges, and failed mechanisms all indicate the window has reached the end of its functional life.
Modern windows feature multi-point locking systems that are significantly more secure than the single-point catches on older frames. Options like toughened glass provide additional security too.
Your windows are where a large share of your home’s heat is lost. That thin bridge between you and the outside elements makes a difference more than most people think.
Double glazing from the past is just that, in the past. The energy ratings land well below today’s offerings, even if the original spec was reasonable at the time.
Fitting new double glazed windows and doors is one of the most effective ways to guard your home from high energy costs.

No two Oban properties are the alike, and the ideal window style depends on the house, the room, and how you use it.
The Advanced Group offers a full selection of windows and doors in both double glazed and triple glazed configurations, including uPVC casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung types.

Casement windows are quite possibly the most popular window style in the UK. They’re side-hinged and open outwards, making them practical for ventilation and straightforward to clean from inside.
Casement windows match just about any property type, whether it’s a modern build or a traditional villa! They are available in a big choice of colours and finishes, and the woodgrain effects replicate real timber without the maintenance or warping risk.

The traditional look of wooden sash frames, replicated in every detail. That’s what our sliding sash windows provide, along with modern thermal performance and security.
Every proportion, sight line, and opening mechanism matches the traditional style. Whether your property sits in a conservation area or you simply want to hold onto its charm, these windows do the job.

These windows give two functions: tilting inward at the top for protected ventilation, and turning completely inward on a side hinge for straightforward cleaning.
They’re a common choice for upper-floor flats where cleaning the outside of the glass from a ladder isn’t realistic.
The tilt feature delivers airflow without security worries. Especially useful for families with young children.
Hinged at the top, opening outward from the bottom. Sensible for ventilation and effective at keeping rain out.
They’re often installed in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, bay window setups, and other spaces where privacy and airflow are just as valued.

French windows are full-length panels that open outward much like French doors.
Paired together, they work wonderfully and can be matched with sidelights to fill a wide opening with glass and natural light.
The Advanced Group specialises in uPVC frame materials, and for really good reasons!
Scotland’s weather won’t play nice with your windows, and uPVC is built to take it. It’s durable, resistant to rough, windy, wet weather, and unlike timber, it won’t deteriorate the same way.
Additionally, uPVC provides the benefit of being low maintenance.
Just a quick wipe with soapy water and it looks brand new!
But more significantly, our uPVC windows are very energy effective. Built with multi-chambered uPVC, some of our frames can achieve a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K, helping recover energy performance to your home.
Best of all? uPVC double glazing is the most affordable option.
This means you can often choose higher-specification glazing without exceeding the budget. We also stock glazed uPVC doors, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to match.
For a large portion of the year, Scotland’s weather is cold, wet, and windy.
That climate means the energy performance of your windows counts. It shapes how much you shell out on heating and how warm your home feels day to day.
A window’s thermal performance is measured by what’s known as its U-value.
The lower that number, the less heat escapes through your glass and frame. Scottish building regulations currently cap it at a maximum U-value of 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows.
Our standard double glazed windows reach 1.2 W/m2K, and our premium models can hit values as low as 0.8 W/m2K. That’s top-performing double glazing and triple glazing that works twice as well as the regulatory minimum.
You’ll notice the difference on your energy costs.
Argon gas filled sealed units and low-E glass coatings do the heavy lifting in A-rated energy-efficient windows and doors. Heat gets pushed back in. Light still comes through.
If you’re moving from old single-glazed sash windows or early double glazing from the 1990s, you could see a significant drop in your heating bills within the first winter.
Oban has plenty of double glazing firms. Few come close to the standard of our windows and doors.

Our experienced installers are often asked about our triple glazing products.
Triple glazing packs in an extra pane of glass, which delivers enhanced insulation and significantly greater noise control.
If your property is located in an exposed spot, up a hill, facing north, or near a busy road or under a flight path, reach out! The Advanced Group would be more than happy to walk you through the benefits of triple glazing.
