Custom Installations

We’ve installed thousands of windows over the last 34 years, take a look at what we have installed more recently.

Why Choose Advance’s Casement Windows?

Casement windows are Scotland’s most popular window type, offering a traditional and elegant design, with superb versatility and weather resistance.

Hinged either at the side or at the top, casement windows are the most energy efficient option for almost all properties and are carefully designed to complement each and every popular house type.

Whatever look you are going for with your home, there is a perfect casement window type to match, with a huge range of styles and decorative finishes available.

About Advanced’s Casement Windows

Our beautiful range of uPVC casement windows are carefully developed and manufactured in one of Europe’s most advanced extrusion facilities, ensuring outstanding quality and flawless operation.

Through a combination of innovative window design and the latest most sustainable production techniques, our uPVC casement windows are driving the next generation of double and triple glazing in the UK, making them the perfect choice for those looking to future-proof their home.

With 80% of the materials used in our uPVC windows being recycled, our casement windows meet all the sustainability needs of the modern world, whilst maintaining the high quality finish and performance our customers expect.

Frames and Glazing

Our casement windows come equipped with the most energy efficient frames on the market, with multiple internal chambers contained within the profile system.

These chambers act as a powerful barrier between the inside and outside of your home, preventing warm air from escaping in the winter months, ensuring maximum thermal efficiency, and significantly reducing your energy bills after installation.

Our glass has been just as carefully designed to maximise energy efficiency, with energy reflecting glass installed as standard in all our casement window types.

This glass ensures maximum heat gain by transmitting solar heat energy from outside into your home and retaining interior warmth.

Between the glazing panes of both our double and triple glazed windows, Thermo spacer bars are fitted, reducing the chances of condensation by ensuring that there are no cold areas towards the edge of the unit.

Casement Window Energy Efficiency

Casement windows are the most energy efficient window design available to Scottish Homeowners.

The reason for this is that unlike some other window styles, casement windows close by pressing the sash against the frame, reducing the risk of air leakages to almost zero.

To maximise the thermal efficiency of our products, we have carefully designed each window component to achieve the lowest possible u-value (the system used to measure a window’s energy efficiency).

Our standard double glazed windows alone achieve an impressive A-rated u-value of 1.4 W/m2K, with the option to reduce this further to 1.2 W/m2K.

For those looking for ultimate energy efficiency, triple glazed casement windows are the choice for you with an application of Soft Coat Xtra and Argon gas fillings reducing the U-value to a market leading 0.8 W/m2K.

All our casement windows are independently tested and certified, and exceed the building requirements for energy efficiency.

This gives you peace of mind that even if regulations tighten in the future, your property will continue to more than comply with regulations, a fact that will add value should you come to sell.

Security

A stunning and practical window design is great but security and the safety of your loved ones is always your first priority when choosing new windows for your home.

Here at Advanced, we take security as seriously as you do, testing all the hardware components of our casement windows with salt spray for 600 hours (3x longer than industry average).

Our windows also come equipped with a market leading multi-point locking system, strong hinges, and quality handles, making it extremely difficult for an intruder to gain access.

We also internally glaze our casement windows to ensure that the glazing bead that offers an extra level of security, cannot be removed from outside the property.

If required, we also offer casement windows with laminated or toughened glass for maximum protection.

FAQ - Casement Windows

What are Casement Windows?

Casement windows are hinged windows that open outwards, either from the side or the top. Casement windows are a popular choice with homeowners in Scotland, as they offer an elegant design with excellent weather resistance. Casement windows press the sash against the frame when closing, creating airtight seal. This helps maximise energy efficiency and reduce unpleasant draughts.

What security features do casement windows have?

High quality, well-made casement windows will include multiple security features from multi-point locking systems, internally glazed beads, and hardware components that have been salt spray tested up to 600 hours. Strong hinges and quality handles can help make forced entry extremely difficult. Optional laminated or toughened glass provides additional security.

Are casement windows suitable for all property types?

Casement windows suit a wide variety of property types found in the UK, from traditional homes to modern flats. The versatile design of the casement window complements older and contemporary architecture well. The benefit of casement is that these window units can adapt to different opening requirements while maintaining exceptional thermal performance.

How long do uPVC casement windows last?

uPVC casement windows typically last 20-35 years, but this estimate can vary based on the quality of installation, the materials used, the usage and location as well as the level of maintenance. Advanced Group’s windows come with a 15-year guarantee and the multi-chambered profiles and weather-resistant seals within the custom-built design help make casement window units last longer.

How energy efficient are casement windows?

Casement windows are the most energy-efficient window design available to homeowners in the UK. Advanced Group’s double-glazed casement windows achieve A-rated u-values of 1.4 W/m²K, whilst triple-glazed options reach an exceptional 0.8 W/m²K. Multi-chambered frames and energy-reflecting glass significantly reduce heating bills and prevent heat loss.

Can casement windows be customised?

Casement windows by The Advanced Group can be extensively customised. This includes numerous colour finishes, decorative glazing, and hardware styles. The Advanced Group provides bespoke configurations to complement any property style, from traditional to contemporary homes. Side-hung, top-hung, tilt-and-turn, and French window variations are available.
