New Windows Aird
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

You’ve spotted the temperature dropping in your home. Bills are climbing. Condensation sits on or inside your windows each morning.
Does that hit home? Your windows are letting you know they need replacing.
Old windows drop their seal as the years pass.
The gas between the panes seeps away, the rubber gaskets stiffen and pull away, and what used to keep the cold out now barely slows it down.
Aird has its fair share of rain and wind, often more than sunshine. When your windows are past their best, you feel the difference in how warm and snug your home remains.
But not to fret, The Advanced Group is here to support you with more than 38 years of trusted know-how. Whether it’s new windows for a single room or a complete house of replacement windows and doors, we’ll find you the right solution and have everything fitted correctly.

Cracked glass? Rotten timber frames? Handles that don’t fasten properly? Some signs are easy to spot.
But other issues are harder to notice, and by the time you spot them, they’ve probably already been losing you money for months, perhaps even years.

Moisture or fogging between the two sheets of glass is a classic sign. The sealed unit has given up.
Once that seal fails, the argon gas that provides insulation seeps out, and your window loses a huge portion of its thermal performance.
Don’t keep throwing money away on increasing heating costs. Recover your home’s thermal performance with properly sealed new windows.

Try a quick test: hold your hand near the edges of the window on a windy day. If cold air is coming through, the seals have worn out.
Draught proofing strips can help for a while, but they’re a sticking plaster on a problem that will only deteriorate as the rubber continues to perish.

If your windows stick, won’t close properly, or are difficult to open, this creates both a safety risk and an insulation issue. Warped frames, worn hinges, and failed mechanisms are all signals that the window has come to the end of its working life.
Modern windows come with multi-point locking systems that are far ahead of the single-point catches on older windows. Throw in toughened glass, and you’ve got seriously stronger safety.
Your windows are the cause of a large proportion of the heat loss in your house. They’re the barrier between you and the outside world.
If your double glazing is ageing, the energy ratings will most probably be significantly below what’s on offer now, even if they were a good specification when first installed.
Want to shield your home from those high energy bills? New double glazed windows and doors are the solution.

Every Aird property is different, and the right window style depends on the building, the room, and how you live in it.
A full lineup of windows and doors, double glazed and triple glazed, is available from The Advanced Group, including uPVC casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung designs, all supplied and fitted by our installers.

Casement windows are quite possibly the most common window type in the UK. They’re side-hinged and open outwards, making them ideal for ventilation and simple to clean from inside.
Casement windows work with most property kinds, from modern builds to traditional properties, and are provided in a wide selection of colours and finishes, including woodgrain effects that recreate the look of timber without the maintenance and risk of warping.

The traditional look of wooden sash frames, mirrored in every detail. That’s what our sliding sash windows offer, along with modern thermal efficiency and protection.
The proportions, sight lines, and opening mechanism all mirror the traditional style, which matters if your property is in a conservation area or you simply want to keep its charm.

Tilt and turn windows tilt inward at the top for safe ventilation, and turn completely inward on a side hinge for simple cleaning.
Upper-floor flat? Cleaning outside glass from a ladder isn’t practical. Tilt and turn windows solve that issue completely.
The tilt function provides you airflow without the security risks of a fully open window, which is especially useful for families with young children.
Top hung windows are hinged at the top and open outward from the bottom. This makes them a smart choice for ventilation while working to keep rain out.
Commonly installed in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, and bay window configurations. Any space where privacy and airflow both matter.

French windows are full-length windows that open outward like French doors.
They perform well in pairs and can be matched with sidelights to cover a wide opening with glass and natural light.
uPVC frame materials. That’s what The Advanced Group specialises in, and the reasons are good.
Scottish weather is tough. uPVC is built to take it. Durable, resistant to harsh, windy, wet conditions. No warping or rot concerns like timber.
uPVC is low maintenance too.
Soapy water and a cloth. That’s all it takes to keep uPVC looking brand new.
But more significantly, our uPVC windows are extremely energy effective. Engineered with multi-chambered uPVC, some of our frames can reach a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K, helping recover energy performance to your house.
And better of all? uPVC double glazing is also the most budget-friendly option.
So you can often fit higher-spec glazing and still keep within budget. We supply glazed uPVC doors too, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to match.
Scotland’s weather is cold, wet, and windy for a good chunk of the year.
In that kind of weather, the energy efficiency of your windows truly impacts how much you spend on heating and how warm your house feels day to day.
Ever heard of U-values? That’s how the thermal efficiency of any window is measured.
The lower that figure goes, the less heat gets through. Scottish building regulations set the maximum at 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows at present.
Our standard double glazed windows sit at 1.2 W/m2K, and the premium models can get down to as low as 0.8 W/m2K. That’s double glazing and triple glazing working at twice the level of the regulatory minimum.
The difference shows up on your energy bills.
A-rated windows and doors. Argon gas filled sealed units. Low-E glass coatings. Heat reflected back in, light still getting through.
If you are upgrading from old single-glazed sash windows or early double glazing from the 1990s, you could notice a noticeable decrease in your heating costs within the first winter.
There are lots of double glazing companies in Aird selling basic products, but not many can come close to the standard of what we provide.

We get asked about triple glazing a lot.
Triple glazing packs in an extra pane of glass, which provides better insulation and noticeably greater noise control.
If your property is perched in an exposed location, up a hill, facing north, or near a busy road or under a flight path, reach out! The Advanced Group would be more than glad to walk you through the advantages of triple glazing.
