New Windows Barnhill
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

Maybe you’ve spotted a change in temperature in your property. Energy bills rising. Or condensation gathering on or inside your windows in the morning.
That nagging feeling? It’s your windows telling you they need attention.
As windows get older, they lose their seal.
That gas between the panes? It escapes. The rubber gaskets go rigid and shrink. And what once kept keep the cold out no longer holds up.
Barnhill has its fair share of rain and wind, sometimes more than sunshine. When your windows are past their best, you feel the difference in how warm and comfortable your home remains.
Not to worry. The Advanced Group has over 38 years of trusted experience. Single room or full house, replacement windows or doors, we’ll find the right option and install everything correctly.

Some faults are clear. Cracked glass, rotten timber frames, handles that don’t fasten correctly.
Some signs fly under the radar though, and by the time you spot them, they’ve been silently losing you money for months or even years.

Moisture or fogging between the two sheets of glass is a classic sign. The sealed unit has given up.
Once that seal goes, the argon gas that delivers insulation leaks out, and your window loses a huge amount of its thermal performance.
Climbing heating costs don’t have to keep climbing. Properly sealed new windows will bring back your home’s thermal efficiency and start to push those bills back down.

Try holding your hand near the edges of your window on a windy day. If you feel cold air sneaking through, the seals have deteriorated.
Draught proofing strips? They’re a temporary fix. The issue only gets worse as the rubber continues to break down.

If your windows catch, won’t lock correctly, or are difficult to operate, this poses both a security risk and an insulation problem. Warped frames, worn hinges, and failed mechanisms are all signals that the window has reached the end of its useful life.
Modern windows feature multi-point locking systems that are significantly more secure than the single-point catches on older frames. Options like toughened glass add extra security too.

Your windows are where a considerable amount of your home’s heat is lost. That thin boundary between you and the outside world matters more than most people expect.
Old double glazing doesn’t compare. The energy ratings are significantly below what’s possible now, even if the original spec was decent when first fitted.
Protect your home from expensive energy bills. New double glazed windows and doors make the difference.

Every Barnhill property has its own feel. The right window type depends on the house, the room, and how you occupy it.
The Advanced Group offers a full choice of windows and doors in both double glazed and triple glazed configurations, including uPVC casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung designs.

The most popular window style in the UK. Side-hinged, opening outwards. Ideal for ventilation and easy to clean from inside.
Casement windows complement just about every property style, whether it’s a modern house or a traditional villa! They are offered in a wide choice of colours and finishes, and the woodgrain effects look just like real timber without the maintenance or warping fear.

The classic look of wooden sash frames, recreated in every detail. That’s what our sliding sash windows deliver, along with modern thermal efficiency and protection.
Every proportion, sight line, and opening mechanism mirrors the traditional style. Whether your property sits in a conservation area or you simply want to hold onto its charm, these windows fit the bill.

These windows provide two options: tilting inward at the top for protected ventilation, and turning completely inward on a side hinge for simple cleaning.
They’re a well-liked choice for upper-floor flats where cleaning the outside of the glass from a ladder isn’t realistic.
The tilt mode allows airflow without the safety risks associated with a fully open window, which is particularly helpful for families with young children.
Top hung windows are hinged at the top and open outward from the bottom, offering a smart choice for ventilation that also helps to keep rain out.
You’ll often spot them in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, and bay window setups, places where both privacy and airflow count.

French windows are full-length windows that open outward like French doors.
They perform well in pairs and can be paired with sidelights to cover a wide opening with glass and natural light.

The Advanced Group focuses in uPVC frame materials, and for really good reasons!
Scottish weather is demanding, and uPVC is designed to be hardwearing and tough to harsh, windy, and wet weather. Unlike timber frames, uPVC won’t have the same warping or rot issues.
uPVC is low maintenance too.
A brief wipe down with soapy water is all it takes to have your uPVC windows looking fresh.
The main benefit? Energy efficiency. Our uPVC windows are built with multi-chambered uPVC, and some frames hit a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K. That brings back real energy performance to your home.
And you want to hear the best news? uPVC double glazing is also the most cost-effective option available!
So you can often install higher-spec glazing and still stay within budget. We supply glazed uPVC doors too, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to coordinate.
Scotland dishes out cold, wet, and windy weather for a good part of the year.
That weather means the energy performance of your windows matters. It affects how much you spend on heating and how comfortable your home feels every single day.
The thermal efficiency of any window is measured by its U-value.
A lower value means less heat being lost through the glass and frame. Currently, Scottish building regulations set a maximum U-value of 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows.
Our standard double glazed windows attain a U-value of 1.2 W/m2K, while our premium options can reach values as low as 0.8 W/m2K, operating at twice the standard of the regulatory minimum.
That improvement is visually shown on your energy statements.
A-rated energy-efficient windows and doors with argon gas filled sealed units and low-E glass coatings are amazing at sending heat back into the room while still allowing lots of light through.
If you’re upgrading from old single-glazed sash windows or early double glazing, you could see a clear drop in your heating costs within the first winter.
Barnhill has its share of double glazing businesses, and most offer standard products. Few, however, match the calibre of the windows and doors supplied by The Advanced Group.

Our experienced installers love talking about triple glazing, and it’s a question that arises frequently!
Triple glazing has an extra pane of glass, allowing it to offer stronger insulation and greater noise levels.
If your home is in an exposed spot, up a hill, facing north, or near a busy road or flight path, The Advanced Group is more than happy to walk you through the upsides of triple glazing.

We fully understand that new windows are an significant spend, and paying for them all at once isn’t always doable.
That’s why we have 0% APR and up to 4 years of interest free credit, which makes the process much less stressful!
This enables you to obtain the windows you want while spreading the cost of your new windows and doors in a way that suits your circumstances.
