New Windows Govan
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

A drop in temperature around the home. Increasing energy bills. Condensation collecting on or inside the windows every morning. Sound familiar?
If any of that sounds familiar, your windows are trying to tell you something.
The seal on older windows deteriorates over time.
That gas between the panes? It leaks out. The rubber gaskets go rigid and contract. And what previously did keep the cold out barely does the job.
Govan’s rain and wind can seem more frequent than the sun. Ageing windows make a real difference to how warm and cosy your property feels.
Over 38 years in the business, and The Advanced Group is still here, ready to support you. Whether it’s one room or the whole house that is due new windows and doors, we’ll find the right solution and get everything fitted just right.

Some signs are straightforward, like cracked glass, rotten timber frames, and handles that don’t lock correctly.
Other issues, however, are harder to spot, and by the time you notice, they could have been losing you money for months or even years.

If you can spot moisture or fogging between the two sheets of glass, the sealed unit has failed.
Once the seal goes, the argon gas that provides insulation seeps away, and the window loses a large portion of its thermal performance.
Rising heating bills don’t have to keep climbing. Perfectly sealed new windows will restore your home’s thermal performance and help push those bills back down.

On a windy day, place your hand near the edges of the window. If you can feel cold air getting through, this suggests the seals have broken down.
Sure, draught proofing strips can help for a bit, but they’re really a sticking plaster. The issue only gets worse as the rubber keeps breaking down.

Windows that jam, won’t close right, or refuse to budge are both a safety risk and an insulation problem. Warped frames, worn hinges, failed mechanisms. The window has hit the end of its functional life.
Modern windows come with multi-point locking systems that are significantly more secure than the single-point catches on older windows. Options like toughened glass provide additional safety too.
Your windows are the cause of a large amount of the heat loss in your house. They’re the link between you and the outside world.
Older double glazing is a thing of the past, and the energy ratings will be well below what’s out there now, even if they were a reasonable specification when they were first installed.
Shield your house from high energy bills with new double glazed windows and doors.

Every Govan home is different, and the right window type depends on the building, the room, and how you use it.
The Advanced Group has a wide lineup of double glazed and triple glazed windows and doors available, including uPVC casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung designs, all provided and fitted by our experts.

The most widely fitted window type in the UK. Side-hinged, opening outwards. Ideal for ventilation and simple to clean from inside.
Casement windows suit most property kinds, from modern homes to traditional properties, and are provided in a wide range of colours and finishes, including woodgrain effects that mimic the look of timber without the maintenance and fear of warping.

The sliding sash windows we fit recreate the style of original wooden sash frames, while providing modern thermal efficiency and safety.
The proportions, sight lines, and opening mechanism all stay true to the traditional design, which is brilliant if your property’s in a conservation area or you just want to maintain its charm.

Tilt them inward at the top for secure ventilation. Turn them completely inward on a side hinge for quick cleaning. Two modes, one window.
Well-liked in upper-floor flats. Cleaning the outside from a ladder? Not feasible.
Airflow without the security risk of a fully open window. That’s what the tilt feature provides, and it’s especially valuable for families with young children.
Top hung windows open outward from the bottom while staying hinged at the top, which is great for letting air in without letting rain in.
They’re often used in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, bay window setups, and other spaces where privacy and airflow are equally valued.

Full-length windows that open outward like French doors. That’s exactly what French windows are.
They’re ideal in pairs and can be combined with sidelights to flood a wide opening with glass and natural light.
The Advanced Group specialises in uPVC frame materials for sound reasons.
Scotland’s weather won’t go easy on your windows, and uPVC is designed to handle it. It’s hardwearing, resilient to harsh, windy, wet conditions, and unlike timber, it won’t warp the same way.
And here’s another bonus: uPVC is incredibly low maintenance!
Just grab it a wipe with soapy water and it’ll look as good as new.
And here’s the genuinely exciting part: our uPVC windows are seriously energy efficient! Built with multi-chambered uPVC, some of our frames reach a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K, which seriously works to restore your home’s energy efficiency.
And better of all? uPVC double glazing is also the most cost-effective option.
This means you can often fit premium-grade glazing without breaking the budget. We also stock glazed uPVC doors, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to coordinate.
For a large portion of the year, Scotland’s climate is cold, wet, and windy.
In such a environment, the energy performance of your windows has a measurable effect on your heating spend and the overall warmth of your house on a daily basis.
The thermal efficiency of a window is assessed by its U-value.
The lower that value goes, the less heat is lost. Scottish building regulations require the maximum at 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows right now.
Our standard double glazed windows perform at 1.2 W/m2K, and the premium range can get down to as low as 0.8 W/m2K. That’s double glazing and triple glazing working at twice the level of the regulatory minimum.
And where does that difference show up? Right on your energy costs!
A-rated energy-efficient windows and doors with argon gas filled sealed units and low-E glass coatings are amazing at reflecting heat back into the room while still allowing lots of light through.
Switching from old single-glazed sash windows or 1990s double glazing? You could see a noticeable drop in heating costs within the first winter.
Govan has its share of double glazing companies, and most offer basic products. Few, however, come close to the standard of the windows and doors fitted by The Advanced Group.

Our experienced installers love chatting about triple glazing, and it’s a topic that pops up a lot!
An extra pane of glass. Better insulation. Improved noise control. That’s triple glazing.
Exposed spot? Up a hill? Facing north? Near a busy road or flight path? The Advanced Group will talk you through the advantages of triple glazing.

New windows are an big purchase. Paying for the lot at once? Not always possible. We know that.
