New Windows Summertown
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

Perhaps you’ve noticed a change in temperature in your property. Energy bills rising. Or condensation appearing on or inside your windows in the morning.
Ring a bell? Your windows are sending you a message.
Older windows lose their seal over time.
That gas between the panes? It leaks out. The rubber gaskets stiffen and pull away. And what used to keep the cold out barely does the job.
In a city like Summertown, where rain and wind can often feel more common than the sun, worn windows make a big difference to how warm and comfortable your house feels.
No need to worry about it! The Advanced Group has been in the business for over 38 years. Whether you need new windows for just one room or every room of replacement windows and doors, we’ll guide you to the right choice and get it all installed the right way.

Some faults are plain to see. Cracked glass. Rotten timber frames. Handles that won’t fasten correctly.
Some signs slip under the radar however, and by the time you spot them, they’ve been steadily costing you money for months or even years.

Moisture or fogging between the two sheets of glass is a classic sign. The sealed unit has given up.
When the seal fails, the argon gas that delivers insulation leaks, and the window loses a big chunk of its thermal performance.
Climbing heating bills don’t have to keep climbing. Perfectly sealed new windows will bring back your home’s thermal performance and start to bring those costs back down.

Put your hand near the window edges on a windy day. Cold air sneaking through? The seals have deteriorated.
Draught proofing strips give you time, but they’re a sticking plaster at best. The rubber continues to degrading, and the issue only worsens.

Windows that jam, jam, or won’t close properly are a security risk as well as an insulation problem. Warped frames, worn hinges, and failed mechanisms all suggest the window has come to the end of its useful life.
Modern windows have multi-point locking systems that are significantly more secure than the single-point catches on older models. Options like toughened glass provide further security too.
Your windows are how a significant proportion of your home’s heat gets out. That thin boundary between you and the outside elements counts more than most people think.
Double glazing from the past is exactly that, in the past. The energy ratings fall significantly below current standards, even if the original spec was reasonable back then.
Protect your home from high energy costs. New double glazed windows and doors make the difference.

Summertown properties come in all forms, and the right window style depends on your house, the room, and how you live in it.
The Advanced Group offers and fits a full range of windows and doors in both double glazed and triple glazed setups, including uPVC triple and double and triple glazed casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung types.

The most widely fitted window type in the UK. Side-hinged, opening outwards. Great for ventilation and easy to clean from inside.
Casement windows work with most property styles. Modern houses, traditional properties, the lot in between. Available in a wide choice of colours and finishes, including woodgrain effects that replicate the look of timber without the maintenance or warping fear.

The classic look of wooden sash frames, replicated in every detail. That’s what our sliding sash windows deliver, along with modern thermal efficiency and security.
The proportions, sight lines, and opening mechanism follow the traditional look. That’s key if your property is in a conservation area or you just want to keep its character.

These windows tilt inward at the top for protected ventilation and turn fully inward on a side hinge for simple cleaning.
If you live in an upper-floor flat, these are a great choice because cleaning the outside of the glass from a ladder just isn’t feasible.
The tilt feature is a real benefit! You get airflow without the security worries of a fully open window, which is particularly great if you’ve got young children at home.
Top hung windows hinge at the top and open outward from the bottom. This makes them a smart choice for ventilation while helping to keep rain out.
You’ll often find them in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, and bay window arrangements, spaces where both privacy and airflow are important.

French windows are full-length units that open outward, functioning much like French doors.
Paired together, they look beautifully and can be matched with sidelights to fill a wide opening with glass and natural light.
There are sound reasons why The Advanced Group focuses in uPVC frame materials.
Scottish weather is tough, and uPVC is built to be long-lasting and tough to rough, windy, and wet weather. Unlike timber frames, uPVC won’t have the same warping or rot issues.
Low maintenance is built in as standard with uPVC.
A simple wipe down with soapy water is all it takes to keep your uPVC windows appearing good as new.
But more significantly, our uPVC windows are highly energy efficient. Built with multi-chambered uPVC, some of our frames can achieve a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K, working to bring back energy efficiency to your property.
And better of all? uPVC double glazing is also the most affordable option.
This allows you to often choose premium-grade glazing without breaking your budget. We also supply glazed uPVC doors, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to coordinate.
For a good chunk of the year, Scotland’s climate is cold, wet, and windy.
In that environment, the energy efficiency of your windows makes a measurable difference to how much you pay on heating and how cosy your property feels every day.
A window’s thermal efficiency is measured by what’s known as its U-value.
The lower that value goes, the less heat escapes. Scottish building regulations require the maximum at 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows at present.
Our standard double glazed windows deliver 1.2 W/m2K, and our premium range can hit 0.8 W/m2K! That’s double glazing and triple glazing performing at twice the regulatory minimum!
You’ll spot the difference on your energy statements.
A-rated energy-efficient windows and doors with argon gas filled sealed units and low-E glass coatings are amazing at bouncing heat back into the room while still allowing loads of light through.
Old single-glazed sash windows or 1990s double glazing? Switch them, and you could see a noticeable drop in heating bills before the first winter is over.
Summertown has plenty of double glazing firms. Few come close to the quality of our windows and doors.

Our trusted installers often get asked about our triple glazing range.
Triple glazing adds an extra pane of glass, which provides better insulation and clearly greater noise dampening.
If your property is in an exposed area, at a raised altitude, facing north, or near a busy road or flight path, The Advanced Group would be more than happy to walk you through the benefits of triple glazing.

We totally get that new windows are an big purchase, and paying for them all at once isn’t always feasible.
That’s why we have 0% APR and up to 4 years of interest free credit.
This lets you get the windows you deserve by spreading the cost of your new windows and doors in a way that suits with your finances.
