New Windows Newmills
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

Maybe you’ve noticed a drop in temperature around your house. Heating costs going up. Or condensation sitting on or inside your windows each morning.
Sound familiar? Your windows are telling you a message.
Over time, older windows start to lose their seal.
Between the panes, the gas leaks. The rubber gaskets harden and pull away. What once kept the cold out now barely registers.
Living in Newmills, you get that rain and wind often outnumber the sunny days, and tired windows make a real difference to how warm and cosy your home feels.
But not to fret, The Advanced Group is here to support you with more than 38 years of trusted know-how. Whether it’s new windows for a single room or a complete house of replacement windows and doors, we’ll help you find the right solution and have everything fitted correctly.

Cracked glass? Rotten timber frames? Handles that don’t fasten properly? Some issues are easy to spot.
But other symptoms are less obvious, and by the time you spot them, they’ve already been losing you money for months, maybe even years.

If you spot moisture or fogging between the two sheets of glass, this is a clear sign that the sealed unit has failed.
Once the seal has failed, the argon gas responsible for insulation seeps away, and the window loses a considerable portion of its thermal performance.
Increasing heating prices don’t have to keep eating into your pocket. Properly sealed new windows will bring back your home’s thermal efficiency and start to bring those bills back down.

Try putting your hand near the edges of your window on a windy day. If you feel cold air getting through, the seals have deteriorated.
Draught proofing strips? They’re a short-term fix. The problem only gets worse as the rubber continues to perish.

If your windows catch, won’t close correctly, or are tough to operate, this presents both a security risk and an insulation issue. Warped frames, worn hinges, and failed mechanisms are all signs that the window has reached the end of its working life.
Multi-point locking systems on modern windows are far more secure than the single-point catches on older frames, and options like toughened glass provide extra security.

Your windows are the cause of a considerable proportion of the heat loss in your property. They’re the barrier between you and the outside world.
Old double glazing doesn’t compare. The energy ratings are significantly below what’s available today, even if the original specification was decent when first fitted.
Fitting new double glazed windows and doors is one of the most effective ways to protect your house from high energy bills.

Every Newmills property has its own personality. The right window style hinges on the house, the room, and how you occupy it.
The Advanced Group has a wide lineup of double glazed and triple glazed windows and doors in stock, including uPVC casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung types, all provided and fitted by our installers.

As quite possibly the most widely chosen window type in the UK, casement windows are side-hinged and open outwards, providing effective ventilation and simple cleaning from inside.
Casement windows suit just about any property style, whether it’s a modern home or a traditional house! They are offered in a huge selection of colours and finishes, and the woodgrain effects mimic real timber without the maintenance or warping risk.
Like the style of original wooden sash frames? Our sliding sash windows recreate that traditional appearance while packing in modern thermal efficiency and security.
Every proportion, sight line, and opening mechanism mirrors the traditional style. Whether your property is in a conservation area or you simply want to maintain its personality, these windows deliver.

Tilt inward at the top for safe ventilation. Turn fully inward on a side hinge for simple cleaning.
Popular in upper-floor flats. Cleaning the outside from a ladder? Not feasible.
The tilt mode gives airflow without safety risks. Especially handy for families with young children.

Hinged at the top, swinging outward from the bottom. Top hung windows give you ventilation and help block the rain out at the very same time.
Frequently installed in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, and bay window configurations. Any space where privacy and airflow both matter.

Think of them as full-length windows that open outward, just like French doors. That’s French windows in a nutshell.
They’re great in pairs and can be matched with sidelights to flood a wide opening with glass and natural light.

uPVC frame materials. That’s what The Advanced Group specialises in, and the reasons are good.
Scotland’s weather won’t play nice with your windows, and uPVC is designed to take it. It’s tough, resistant to rough, windy, wet weather, and unlike timber, it won’t rot the same way.
Not only that, but uPVC is low maintenance.
Wipe it down with soapy water. That’s it. It looks good as new.
More significantly though, our uPVC windows are very energy effective. With multi-chambered uPVC construction, some of our frames can hit a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K, working to bring back your home’s energy performance.
On top of all that, uPVC double glazing is also the most cost-effective option on the market.
So you can often install premium-grade glazing and still keep within budget. We supply glazed uPVC doors too, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to complement.
Cold, wet, and windy. That’s Scotland for a fair portion of the year.
That climate means the energy rating of your windows counts. It influences how much you shell out on heating and how cosy your property feels day to day.
Know about U-values? That’s how the thermal performance of any window is measured.
The lower that value, the less heat is lost through your glass and frame. Scottish building regulations currently require a maximum U-value of 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows.
Standard double glazed windows: 1.2 W/m2K. Premium options: as low as 0.8 W/m2K. That’s twice as effective as the regulatory minimum.
And where does that difference appear? Right on your energy costs!
A-rated energy-efficient windows and doors with argon gas filled sealed units and low-E glass coatings send heat back into the room while still allowing light through.
If you’re coming from old single-glazed sash windows or early double glazing from the 1990s, you could see a properly noticeable drop in your heating bills within just the first winter!
Newmills has plenty of double glazing companies. Few come close to the standard of our windows and doors.
Triple glazing is among the most frequent enquiries our trusted installers receive.
An extra pane of glass makes triple glazing apart. It translates to stronger insulation and improved noise dampening beyond standard double glazing.
If your property is positioned in an exposed location, up a hill or high above sea level, facing north, or near a busy road or under a flight path, The Advanced Group would be more than willing to guide you through the benefits of triple glazing.
