Fitting Scotland Perfectly
New Windows Sheddocksley
Quality Energy Efficient Double Glazed Windows & Doors

Spotted a temperature shift in your home? Bills on the rise? Or condensation sitting on or inside your windows in the morning?
Sound familiar? Your windows are sending you a clear sign.
As windows wear, they lose their seal.
Gas escapes from between the panes. The rubber gaskets stiffen and contract. What used to block the cold now barely registers.
Sheddocksley gets its fair share of rain and wind, sometimes more than sunshine. When your windows are worn, you notice the difference in how warm and cosy your home stays.
Over 38 years in the trade, and The Advanced Group is still here, ready to lend a hand. Whether it’s one room or the full house that is due new windows and doors, we’ll find the right solution and get everything fitted the right way.

The easy ones jump out. Cracked glass, rotten timber frames, handles that refuse to lock the way they should.
But other signs are less obvious, and by the time you spot them, they’ve probably already been costing you money for months, maybe even years.

Moisture or fogging between the two sheets of glass? The sealed unit has broken down.
When the seal breaks, the argon gas that delivers insulation escapes, and the window loses a big amount of its thermal ability.
Don’t let increasing heating prices drain your budget. Restore your home’s thermal efficiency by fitting perfectly sealed new windows.

Put your hand near the edges of the window on a windy day. If you can feel cold air coming through, the seals have worn.
Draught proofing strips? They’re a quick fix. The fault only deteriorates as the rubber continues to break down.

If your windows jam, won’t lock correctly, or are hard to operate, this creates both a security risk and an insulation issue. Warped frames, worn hinges, and failed mechanisms are all indicators that the window has come to the end of its useful life.
Modern windows come with multi-point locking systems that are way ahead of the single-point catches on older models. Throw in toughened glass, and you’ve got seriously improved security.

Your windows are behind a significant amount of the heat loss in your property. They’re the link between you and the weather outside.
Double glazing from years ago is a thing of the past, and the energy ratings will be far below what’s available today, even if the specification was decent at the time.
Fitting new double glazed windows and doors is one of the smartest ways to guard your house from high energy costs.

The right window style for your Sheddocksley house will depend on the building itself, the room in question, and how you live in it.
We supply and fit a full selection of double glazed and triple glazed windows and doors, including uPVC casement, sash, tilt and turn, and top hung styles.

The most popular window style in the UK. Side-hinged, opening outwards. Great for ventilation and simple to clean from inside.
They fit most kinds of property, from modern houses to traditional villas, and are available in a wide range of colours and finishes. Woodgrain effects mimic the look of timber without the maintenance or worry of warping.
The classic look of wooden sash frames, recreated in every detail. That’s what our sliding sash windows provide, along with modern thermal efficiency and security.
The proportions, sight lines, and opening mechanism are all made to mirror the traditional look, which is particularly relevant if your property is in a conservation area or you wish to maintain its character.

These windows give two functions: tilting inward at the top for secure ventilation, and turning completely inward on a side hinge for easy cleaning.
For those living in upper-floor flats, tilt and turn windows are a wise choice, as cleaning the outside of the glass from a ladder is not an option.
The tilt function delivers airflow without security worries. Especially valuable for families with young children.

Top hung windows are hinged at the top and open outward from the bottom, making them a practical choice for ventilation while working to keep rain out.
You’ll spot top hung windows in bathrooms, kitchens, stairwells, and bay window arrangements, basically anywhere that privacy and airflow are both needed.

Full-length windows that open outward like French doors. That’s exactly what French windows deliver.
In pairs, they perform brilliant, and you can match them with sidelights to fill a wide opening with glass and loads of natural light.

The Advanced Group’s speciality is uPVC frame materials, and this decision is backed by good reasons.
Scottish weather sends the lot at your windows. uPVC is built to handle it, hardwearing, resilient to wild, windy, wet weather, and free from the warping or rot worries that affect timber frames.
Low maintenance is baked in as standard with uPVC.
Just a simple wipe with soapy water and it can look as good as new!
More importantly though, our uPVC windows are very energy efficient. With multi-chambered uPVC engineering, some of our frames can achieve a U-value as low as 0.8 W/m2K, helping to improve your home’s energy performance.
The cherry on top? uPVC double glazing is the most cost-effective option out there.
So you can often choose higher-spec glazing and still stay within budget. We provide glazed uPVC doors too, including uPVC doors, composite doors, and patio doors to coordinate.
Let’s be honest, Scotland is cold, wet, and windy for a fair chunk of the year!
With weather like that, the energy rating of your windows makes a genuine difference to what you pay on heating and how cosy your home feels from day to day!
U-value. That’s the figure that reveals you how effective a window truly is.
A lower U-value translates to less heat escaping through the glass and frame. Scottish building regulations currently stipulate a maximum U-value of 1.6 W/m2K for replacement windows.
Our standard double glazed windows sit at 1.2 W/m2K, and the premium options can get down to as low as 0.8 W/m2K. That’s double glazing and triple glazing operating at twice the level of the regulatory minimum.
The difference shows on your energy statements.
A-rated windows and doors. Argon gas filled sealed units. Low-E glass coatings. Heat pushed back in, light still coming through.
If you’re upgrading from old single-glazed sash windows or early double glazing from the 1990s, you could see a clear drop in your heating bills within the first winter.
Sheddocksley has its share of double glazing companies, and most supply entry-level products. Few, however, match the calibre of the windows and doors supplied by The Advanced Group.
Our skilled installers are frequently asked about our triple glazing options.
An extra pane of glass. Stronger insulation. Greater noise control. That’s triple glazing.
If your property is situated in an exposed spot, up a hill or high above sea level, facing north, or near a busy road or under a flight path, The Advanced Group would be more than happy to guide you through the advantages of triple glazing.
